Kunst.ee is Estonian magazine of visual culture. Each issue containes sc special issue (usually 1/4 of content), wich has every time different editor and special design.

This issue focused on young estonian art (editor Elnara Maarin). Original Young Estonia was national- romantic movement from the beginning of 20th c. which united both writers and artists. Their most known statement was “Stay Estonians, but became Europeans!”. Now, when since the birth of YE movement 100 years have passed it is quite appropriate to draw some parallels and mix one with another. As young editors say in their statement, they have consciously attained ironic attitude towards institutional attempts to categorise and describe young art. Furthermore, they go along with the game and even push it further. Working as collectors in their Wunderkammer, editors have captured young artists, pictured them, labelled them and provided them with art critical reports. The portraits of artists were meant to resemble of stoppings and trophys.
